Balzboard Flap - wall shelf with secret compartment

Our Balzboard Flap is an inconspicuous wall shelf with a secret compartment, in in which the fittings are covered, so the shelf appears to be floating. We have developed a unique security system in which the secret compartment flap opens downwards as if by magic and which can be equipped with four different locking systems.

Our Balzboard Slider is an inconspicuous, elegant wall shelf with a secret compartment. The shelf fits freely into the furnishings and is ideal for storing valuable items inconspicuously. Our Courtship block is the right partner for the inconspicuous and safe storage of larger valuables or simply as clever designer furniture with function using push-to-open equipment. The chest with a secret compartment contains a lot of technical know-how and craftsmanship. The secret compartment can be accessed via the front-opening body and can be equipped with five different locking systems.

Balzblock safe/weapon cabinet*
Our courtship block with integrated safe/weapon cabinet offers even more security. The Courtship Block is a beautiful and practical furniture chest with a secret compartment and also equipped with a safe/gun cabinet. Thanks to the double protection provided by the furniture with integrated locking system and the safe, you can rely on your courtship block. The integrated safes of the Balzblock are all ECB-S certified and have resistance level 1. The safe can be accessed via the body that opens to the front and can be equipped with five different locking systems.

Professional advice, planning and development together with our design engineers, including on-site visits, bring our customers' wishes and needs to life. Visualisation allows us to adapt the plans to each customer's living space. Whether a panic room, concealed safe or gun cabinet, furniture with a secret compartment or a beautiful piece of designer furniture, it is a pleasure for us, because development and collaboration with our customers are our passion.

Emergency unlocking is not possible if the products are improperly maintained.
In the event of non-compliance, the product cannot be opened without force.

MAGNETIC LOCK
The magnetic lock, which is installed as standard in our furniture, can be easily opened with the associated magnet. This lock is a purely mechanical lock that does not require changing the battery.

RFID TRANSPONDER LOCK*
The RFID transponder lock replaces the standard integrated locking mechanism and enables identification via transponder card. The lock is opened with a transponder card that is held on the piece of furniture. This lock uses 125 kHz technology. Up to 49 transponder cards can be programmed into the lock.

MIFARE RFID LOCK*
The MIFARE RFID lock replaces the standard integrated locking mechanism and enables identification via MIFARE transponder card. The MIFARE technology works in the high frequency range of 13.56 MHz, which results in higher encryption security and faster data transmission. To open the lock, the transponder card is held against the piece of furniture. Up to 49 transponder cards can be programmed into the lock.

BLUETOOTH LOCK*
The Bluetooth lock replaces the standard integrated locking mechanism and enables identification via smartphone (Bluetooth).
The lock can be opened without a mobile network and internet connection via the app. The free app for programming and management is installed via Google Play or the Apple Store.
The reading range of the lock is approximately 8 meters depending on the room layout.

PUSH-TO-OPEN (only with courting block or on request)
The Push-to-Open version replaces the standard integrated locking mechanism and allows you to easily open your piece of furniture Press.
With this locking variant, no additional security mechanism is integrated into your piece of furniture.

Safe locking mechanisms Resistance level 1-3:
KEY LOCK
The lock is a highly secure, mechanical double-bit lock. Each component of the lock is precisely adapted to the key - so improper opening attempts are unsuccessful.
The scope of delivery includes 2 keys.

MECHANICAL COMBINATION LOCK
The mechanical combination lock (MZK) can be selected as an option and replaces the standard key lock.
To open the lock, an individual 4-digit number combination is entered using the number wheel. The lock does not require batteries.

ELECTRONIC COMBINATION LOCK*
The electronic combination lock (EZK) can be selected as an option and replaces the standard key lock. The high-quality electronic combination lock is opened using freely programmable user codes; different users can be programmed into the lock with personal codes. The electronic lock has the option of triggering a silent alarm (burglar alarm system is required, not included in delivery). The lock is powered by batteries and has a hidden emergency opening using an inspection key.

Safe locking mechanisms Resistance level 4:
KEY LOCK + MECHANICAL COMBINATION LOCK
The standard equipment for resistance level 4 is the combination of a key lock and the mechanical combination lock (MZK). The keyhole is a highly secure, mechanical double-bit lock. To open the combination lock, an individual 4-digit number combination is entered using the number wheel. This lock combination is completely mechanical and requires no batteries. The scope of delivery includes 2 keys for the key lock.

KEY LOCK + ELECTRONIC COMBINATION LOCK*
The combination, key lock with electric combination lock (EZK), can be selected as an option and replaces the standard lock combination. The keyhole is a highly secure, mechanical double-bit lock. The high-quality, electric combination lock is opened using freely programmable user codes; different users can be programmed into the lock using personal codes. The electronic lock has the option of triggering a silent alarm (burglar alarm system is required, not included in delivery). The lock is powered by batteries and has a hidden emergency opening using an inspection key.

TWO ELECTRIC COMBINATION LOCKS*
Instead of the key lock, the variant with two electric combination locks can optionally be selected, meaning that a key is no longer required for opening. Both locks are opened with freely programmable user codes. The locks are operated with batteries and have a hidden emergency opening using a revision key.

*Battery-operated locks made in Austria, battery is sufficient for up to 15,000-20,000 openings depending on the frequency of use. We recommend changing the battery after 1 year, which is easy to do yourself.
Electronic locks always require proper maintenance, functional testing including checking the battery charge level. The electronic locks cannot be unlocked emergency.

Please note that the surfaces can be injured if used or treated improperly. Remember that your BALZWERK® manufactured product is a combination of carpentry craftsmanship and technical know-how and therefore the construction is designed down to the smallest detail to meet the specified values. Wood is a living natural product that works and is constantly changing, so grains and the wood texture may vary from the picture.

In order to maintain the appearance of the surface, proper care is required, which can vary depending on the surface. Here we explain how to properly care for our surfaces and what needs to be taken into account for the different wooden surfaces. We recommend using a solvent-free furniture polish once or twice a year to preserve the shine of the furniture. High-gloss solvents or alcohol-based polishes/cleaners must not be used as these can attack the surfaces and leave a rough and matt impression. Color changes over time cannot be completely ruled out, as the oiled, waxed, stained and painted surfaces can react to different environmental conditions such as UV radiation. Please do not use microfiber cloths, as these can cause fine scratches and, over time, “peel off” the care layer on the wood and paint. We recommend a lint-free cotton cloth. Do not use steam cleaners as this will cause swelling and eventually destroy the furniture. To avoid edges and stains, neither water nor damp objects should be left on the surfaces for long periods of time.

Care instructions for BALZWERK® surfaces Naturally treated BALZWERK® furniture items
The purpose of a surface treated with oil/wax/stain is to preserve the natural texture of the wood. This way it can continue to breathe because the pores are not closed - this treatment also enhances the entire appearance. A special color is created in which the structure of the wood becomes particularly visible. Always expose your wooden furniture to light evenly. An object that is constantly in the same place prevents the wood from darkening. Avoid exposing oiled furniture to direct sunlight or heat sources as this can damage the surface.

Care
Do not use a wet or damp cloth on oiled, waxed or stained surfaces. Because the water displaces the wood finish in the pores, the structure of the wood can be permanently damaged. A dry cloth is used to remove minor dirt or contamination. This cloth must be lint-free, otherwise the lint can stick to the piece of furniture and build up. In order to restore the BALZWERK® furniture to its former glory, the surface is first cleaned of dust and dirt. Afterwards, a suitable furniture oil care product may only be used sparingly and should also be applied thinly with a cloth in the direction of the grain. No solvents or alcohol-based polishes/cleaners may be used as these attack the surface.

Painted BALZWERK® furniture
On painted surfaces, the pores of the wood remain permanently closed. In this way, it is better protected against dirt and the piece of furniture is therefore much easier to care for than a piece of furniture with a naturally treated surface. Never stick on self-adhesive film or adhesive strips, as the solvent residues and plasticizers they contain can destroy the paint layer on your furniture. Lacquered furniture should not be exposed to direct sunlight as this can cause the paint to fade or crack. The piece of furniture should also not be exposed to extreme temperatures, as this can damage the paint.

Care
The surface can be easily cleaned of dirt, dust and other contaminants with a slightly damp cloth. For painted furniture, care should be taken to use a fine cotton cloth (not a fiber cloth or duster) to avoid unnecessary scratches or unsightly streaks. No solvents or alcohol-based polishes/cleaners may be used as these attack the surface.

Notes on battery disposal

In connection with the distribution of batteries or with the delivery of products containing batteries, we are obliged to inform you of the following:
As an end user, you are legally obliged to return used batteries. You can return old batteries that we have or have had in our range as new batteries free of charge to our shipping warehouse (shipping address). The symbols shown on the batteries have the following meaning:

• The symbol of the crossed out garbage can means that the battery must not be disposed of with household waste.
• Pb = Battery contains more than 0.004 percent lead by mass
• Cd = Battery contains more than 0.002 percent cadmium by mass
• Hg = Battery contains more than 0.0005 mass percent mercury.
